Quilted Cards...

I needed some cute cards to go along with the presents for my neices, so I turned to a blog called MADE. This lady, Dana, has amazing ideas, and has a bunch of tutorials on how to make things. I decided to do the Quilted Card (go to the tutorial by clicking on the highlighted words) and use the same fabric that I used for the aprons. And this is how they turned out!! It's a perfect, personalized card that goes wonderfully with the gifts!

These are a few others I made from the tutorial. Super easy, and fool-proof. Anyone that has access to a sewing machine, even without sewing abilities, can make this card!! Thank you Dana for your wonderful ideas!

I have two neices (sisters) whose birthdays two days apart, and they are 3 years in age difference, one turning 9 and the other turning 6.
About a month ago, they were visiting from Arkansas, and we had a sleepover at my house. When I was figuring out some fun things to do to keep them entertained, they begged me to make cookies with them, which we did. They had so much fun doing it, and had told me how much they love to help their mom cook, I decided the perfect present for them would be some aprons they could wear when they help their mom make dinner. I had made one for another neice of mine not long ago, and decided to repeat the same pattern that I had "winged" with the other apron. And this is how they turned out!

I hope they like them! I'm just sad I won't be able to see their reaction when they open them. Hopefully my sister will take some pictures (hint, hint) when they open them. Happy Birthday Annabelle and Gracie!!

Awesome Read...

I read this book a while back, and I absolutely loved it! And the second one comes out on September 1st, and I can't wait!!
In the ruins of a place once known as North America lies the nation of Panem, a shining Capitol surrounded by twelve outlying districts. The Capitol is harsh, and cruel and keeps the districts in line by forcing them all to send one boy and one girl between the ages of twelve and eighteen to participate in the annual Hunger Games, a fight to the death on live TV.
Sixteen-year-old Katniss Everdeen, who lives alone with her mother and younger sister, regards it as a death sentence when she steps forward to take her sister's place in the Games. But Katniss has been close to death before-and survival, for her, is second nature. Without really meaning to, she becomes a contender. But if she is to win, she will have to start making choices that weigh survival against humanity and life against love.
It mights sound a little gruesome (that's what I thought when I read about it), but it isn't as gruesome as it seems. When I read it, I couldn't put it down, and finished it in only a couple days. Check it out just in time for the second book, Catching Fire.

Christmas in July...

I'm having a little Christmas for myself here in July. I have a few new fun things for me to play with! I'm so excited! There is nothing that I love more then new fabric. You have this whole canvas to do what you want with. It is always hard for me to make that first cut. There's no going back. I just got this Christmas fabric yesterday. Isn't it adoreable??!! I'm so excited to use it! I'm going to be making some stockings for my kids for Christmas. But I'll still have some left over, so I have to decide what to do with the rest. But I'm not too worried. I'll come up with some use for it!!

This is my new toy! I got a pink "Behold" touch screen phone. I love it! It has so many cool features, but my favorite is the camera on it. It takes way good pictures, and came with a connector for putting them on the computer. I'm sure I'll get a lot of use out of it!!

Well, I spoiled myself a bit, but doesn't every mother deserve a little "spoiling" ever once in a while?? That's what I'm thinkin... :)

Fun Wedding Website...

So, I came across a website that I LOVE! It's called OnceWed. Not that I'm in need of a website like this, since I am no longer in need of inspiration for a wedding! :) But it's so much fun to look at nonetheless. And there's little ideas you can use for special occasion parties.
They have a lot on this website, and they are constantly updating it. They have pictures of actual wedding, like the ones below.
They have tutorials on how to make awesome centerpieces, flower arrangement, accessories for bridesmaids, invitations, wedding cakes, and lots more fun and unique ideas!
There is also an Inspirational Gallery that show pictures like the ones below.

It's just something fun to look at, if not to use as ideas for a wedding your involved in planning. Check it out!!

Rag Flower Pillow...

This is my new pillow I made. I had fun making this, for some reason. I like the rag flower. I have another one simular to this that I'm working on, except the flower is going to be a different color, but the pillow fabric will be the same. Love!! It's on my shop on etsy.
