Play Mat...

For one of the gifts for my little man (14 months), I decided to make him a play mat for his cars. He's very into cars right now, which is good since his Daddy keeps buying them for him, and loves to make the sounds as he drives them. (It's super cute, even with the spit flying)

I had a lot of this green material in the vintage stash that I got from my Grandma, and I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to use it, especially since I couldn't think of anything else to use it for. This is one of his Tonka police cars by the police station...

They also have a hospital in the little Tonka Land. Good thing...

Fire station, just incase any of the fabric trees catch on fire...

I hope he'll have fun with this!

Doll House...

My husband has started on the doll house. He is so excited to be making this for Kadie. And, being a contractor, he is very into the details. He is planning on doing floor boards, trims, siding, and wooden shingles. And I'm still trying to pick out what paper to do for the walls. We're doing wood floors on the bottom floor, which will be the kitchen and dining room. Then the other floors will be carpet. And the small room on the middle floor will be the bathroom, and we're doing little glass tiles in there.

He did a half wall between the kitchen and dining room.

I literally squealed when he showed me the stairs that he did. So CUTE!

It's still a work in progress, and I'll show you more when we get further along. I'm also making some accessories and furniture that I'll post when they get further along. I have so many things to make, my head is about to explode! But it's still so much fun.

New Moon...

So, I've already been to New Moon twice, and will be going again next week. Pathetic, right?? I can't help it when I've been invited multiple times, and love it enough to see it more then once, and get an excuse for a night out without kids!! (At least that's what I've been telling myself...) I thought it was great! Way better then the Twilight movie! And I am THRILLED we don't have to wait another year for Eclipse! I'll be anticipating June 30th!

So Creative...

Yesterday I was doing some Christmas crafting, and had my scrap pile out. I didn't notice that Kadie had taken a piece, until she came in with her notebook that is especially for her to draw in, and said, "Mommy, look! I draw a fapric!" I couldn't believe how well my little 3 year old had mimicked the fabric! She is really good at drawing for a 3 year old! I love this age!!

Sweet Surprise...

Last night, my sister-in-law called. She had made a dessert that she knew my husband liked, so she asked if we wanted some. We said, 'of coarse'. So she told us that she would leave it on our front porch, because our family has been a bit sick. So we check the porch, and along with the dessert, there was a large giftbag with a note. Inside the bag was a couple pairs of jeans and hair gel for my husband, and for me, a purse from here, some yummy lip gloss, and a couple new books to try! I couldn't believe how thoughtful and random it was! It definately made my night.

It got me to thinking, I want to do things like that more often. To just randomly give something to some one as a surprise, and make their day!! So that's what I'm going to do.

Fabric Pies...

Well, I copied Jess on this again. It was just such a cute idea, when I saw the pie she made for her little girl, I had to try one for a Christmas present! Hope you don't mind Jess!!
