Hey everyone!!
I just wanted to share a quick tutorial with you today (with a free pattern).Little Chloe spits up...a lot. And I don't have many burp cloths. So I wanted to make some real quick with items I had on hand in my stash. So I used cotton and fleece I had left over from Ric Rac Recieving blankets.

Supplies Needed:
-9 1/2" x 13 1/2" cotton (at least)
-9 1/2" x 13 1/2" flannel (at least)
-9 1/2" x 13 1/2" flannel (at least)
-burp cloth pattern (click on 'file' and then click on 'download'. When it downloads, open the document, click 'print' and set on 'Full page print', but make sure the 'Fit picture to frame' is not checked)
-sewing basics
First, print off the PDF pattern (link above)
Fold your cotton fabric in half width wise. Line the marked "fold" on the pattern with the fold of your fabric. (Please excuse the lack of "nice pattern" in the pictures. I used my original hand-drawn one)
Cut it out.
Repeat with the flannel.
Line them up right-sides together.
Pin.
Sew 1/4" from the edge, all the way around, leaving a 3-4" gap at the top of one end of the burp cloth for turning.
Turn right sides out and press.
Top stitch 1/8" all the way around.
Do a second top stitch 1/4" all the way around (if desired. I like the look of it)
And that's it!!
I also did this one with ric rac around the edges! To do that, use the method from my Ric Rac Recieving Blanket tutorial.
Let me know if you have any questions!! And if you make some, add them to my Flickr group!! I'd love to see them!!

PATTERN NOTE: I've just updated the pattern so you should be able to download it. See the link above. If the link won't work for you, let me know and I'll email it to you. But please try the link first. It's so much easier that way, and less time consuming for me. Thank you and enjoy!!!

I love the shape of them, perfect for throwing one over your shoulder. Haley was a big spitter upper (possibly not a word lol) too, and we basically kept a bib on her until she was 11 months old, so I went through a ton of burp clothes. Wish mine looked as cute at these!!
What a cute set of burp cloths!! Thanks for sharing this tutorial!

Hi! Love these! Thank you for the tutorial! I have made one set so far, and I have a question.
The ends of my burp cloths seem to curl up and won't lie flat. I used some extra minky fabric instead of flannel with both, but with the second one I made I added an extra middle layer of flannel for increased thickness. Any suggestions for getting mine to lie flat? Thanks again!!
Can you plz email me the pattern it will not let me dl it babyabshire@gmail.com
I have tried several times to download this pattern but can only download a miniature size - can you email me a pattern that is regular size? Thank you so much --

OOPS, I figured it out! No need for anything emailed, thanks. Kel (kberkeland@hotmail.com)
I cannot get the pattern to download correctly. It just downloads as a .jpg and I cannot get it to the right size when it does that. Can you please email it to me jscholl@live.com Thank you so much!
I love this pattern, but I can only open it as a tiny jpg file. Could you email it to me? I would appreciate it so, so much! (bobbinsew27@yahoo.com) Thank you!
What a fun pattern! And I love the use of the large rickrack. Anyway, I can not get the pattern to download. Do you mind emailing it to me at keepsakesbykristi@yahoo.com
I downloaded the pattern about 4 months ago when my step daughter announced she was pregnant. I love using the material I already have in my stash, but it was hard to resist buying more. I've made over a dozen and keeps me busy on the days I want to stay in. I found a bib pattern some else posted on their site and each burp cloth has a matching bib. Take care, I was upset to read of your recent setback, you seemed to have so much energy. Kathy
I have tried to print this pattern but it won't let me. I keep getting an error message. Could you please email it to me sllux(at)hotmail(dot)com? Thank you so much
Any chance I could get the pattern emailed to me also, having trouble downloading it. JmeTom@aol.com
I think the reason it is not printing correctly, is that people are only clicking on the link and then printing from this page. Your further instructions indicate to select 'file'and then 'download' and unselect ''fit to page' option. Printing this way I had no problem, but printing from the first page that viewed after clicking on your link resulted in a small pattern
Hope that helps
Hi Nikki, my apologies, but I can't get the pattern to download or to open. If you would be so kind as to send me the pattern I would greatly appreciate it. I have a granddaughter due in April & want to get some of these made! My e-mail: jkmcmom@windstream.net

Created a template so I wouldn't have to keep printing. I added 1 inch to the pattern template (2 inches) in the middle to give a little more length. Looks a little dog-bone shaped, but fits over the shoulder nicely. Also used flannel for one side, towel material for the other. Nice and easy, thanks.
