Lemonade Birthday Party and a GIVEAWAY!

When I asked Kadie one thing she wanted at her friend birthday party, she said pink lemonade, which is her FAVORITE drink. So we did a Pink Lemonade party! I wanted to make it simple and sweet.

I made two flag garlands and hung one above the food table and one below.

I had to make some tissue paper pom-poms. Love them!! And I added a couple paper lanterns I found at Hobby Lobby.

I filled a couple apothecary jars with pink gumballs and lemon drops.

Kadie went out into a field by our house and picked a bunch of sunflowers. So we put them in mason jars and used them as centerpieces on the tables. Along side mason jars filled with colored pencils. For an activity, the girls colored some paper dolls and outfits I had made earlier. Unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of those.
For the food table, of coarse we had to have pink and yellow lemonade. It was definitely refreshing in the heat. Next year I think I'll do the party in the evening...or maybe in the air conditioned house!

I ordered some pink polka dot and yellow striped straws. They are so cute!

The straws also came in handy for the cupcakes.
I used this pink lemonade cupcake recipe. They were delicious! To me and any other adults that tried them at least. The kids, they weren't huge fans. I think if I ever make them for kids again, I'll leave out the lemon zest in the frosting. Apparently they weren't fans of lemon. Except for Kadie! She LOVED them!! And it was her party, so as long as she loved them, that's all that matters!!

Despite the fact that the kids didn't eat them (I just pigged out on them later myself. I love all things lemon) they turned out adoreable!

For the favors, I bought some chinese take-out boxes at Michaels and filled them with goodies.

I made some tags for the front and used some strips of paper to decorate them. Wanna see what's inside?

Fabric scrappy headbands, gumball necklaces, a bag of candy and mini pink nailpolish from Walmart.

I made the headbands from the scraps of the flag garland.

They are so fun to make! This was probably my favorite thing to prepare for the party.

I go the idea for the gumball necklaces from Anna of Noodlehead. And I totally copied her picture! Oops! I didn't even think about it until after. You can see her necklaces for her little girl's lemonade party HERE.

Now...Wanna know what I'm giving away?Want one of the flag garlands from the party?

Just leave a comment!

Open to international readers too!

I'll announce the winner Friday, September 2nd.
