Slim Kicker (a free weight loss app)

About a year ago, I got an email from someone named Christina, asking me that if there was a weight loss app or website that helped you keep track of your eating and exercise and made it into a game where you can win prizes, or treat yourself to a reward, if I'd be interested in trying it out.
Uh. YEAH!!
Especially after having my 11 lb. baby, it's been a bit harder to get back into exercise and eating healthy to shed the baby weight!
Well, after a year, Christina and her friends have finished the website and (FREE) app just for that. It's called Slim Kicker.
You earn points for exercise, eating healthy, and it automatically caluclates your calories, sugar, fat, etc. for your meals, and gives you points. You set up a reward that you want once you've reached the next level, such as something you want to buy, a girls'/guys' night, a cheat meal...whatever tempts you. (Mine right now is a new book I've been wanting)
You can also do challenges that will give you an automatic 500 points if you complete them. Some examples of the challenges are not drinking soda for a week, or not eating after 7:00 every night for a week.
You feel like you're playing a game, trying to get to the next level, and it's seriously addicting! You want to get to the next level.
So if anyone is looking to lose weight, get healthy, or just looking for an excuse to reward yourself for doing things you already do, check out their website, and give it a tour. And if you join (for free), friend me, and we can motivate each other!!
Did I mention it's free?? Well, it is.

Spring Cleaning: Simple trick

I just wanted to share a quick cleaning tip today, since I'm on a spring cleaning kick. I'm sure most of you have heard of this trick before, but if not, it's a "must" to know.

I'm sure everyone has food explosions in their microwave, whether it's from reheating some spaghetti and not covering it, or trying to melt butter, and it blowing up (or does that one just happen to me??) Well, here's a way to get your microwave spotless in a matter of minutes.

Literally.

First, spray down the inside of the microwave with windex. Next, place one or two lemon slices in a microwave safe bowl with enough water to cover them. Place the bowl in the microwave, and turn on for 2 minutes.
When it's done, pull the bowl out and wipe down the inside with a damp rag. No matter how baked on the leftover food was, it should wipe right off. And your microwave is sparkling and smells lemony fresh.
Do you have any quick cleaning tricks to share??

The Cinch Skirt

For Easter, I made Kadie a cinch skirt, using this tutorial from Craftiness is Not Optional. LOVE her girl clothes tutorials if you haven't noticed already. These pictures didn't turn out real great...but you get the idea. But it looks great in person!! And she loves it. Which always makes the time and effort you put into it worth it! I'll definitely be making another one of these. So easy, and so stinkin' cute!!

Pinspired: Baby Snuggler

So, a while back I saw this pin on Pinterest, and knew it would be the next baby gift that I would make. A baby snuggler!! For those new babies who like to be swaddled to sleep. For those babies who don't seem to stay swaddled while sleeping.

It's perfect. You can find the free pattern by Lotta Jansdotter HERE.
This will definitely stay on my list of baby gift items to give.

Barbecue Chicken Pizza

Oh how we love all things barbecue at our house!!! Especially pizza! I thought I'd share with you a simple recipe that we use at our house for the nights when you just need a quick, yet yummy, meal. The hubs is a HUGE fan of Pier 49's BBQ chicken pizza. But guess what...he likes mine better. I guess unless he's just saying that to be nice. But he's usually pretty straight forward. So I make this often for him. And the best part of this is, the ingredients are things I usually have in my fridge. Don't you love those?

Ingredients:
1 recipe for pizza dough (I use this one, and usually make a bunch to put in individual containers in the freezer, and then just pull it out to thaw in the morning)
olive oil
garlic salt
1-2 chicken breasts, grilled and finely chopped or shredded
KC Masterpiece barbecue sauce (I usually go for the hickory brown sugar or the original)
1 1/2-2 cups shredded mozerella cheese
2 TBL chopped fresh cilantro
1/4 cup chopped red onion (optional)
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees F. Preheat your pizza stone, if using one.
Roll out the crust dough and place on preheated stone or on a baking dish. Poke dough all over with a fork, brush on olive oil and sprinkle with garlic salt.
Bake in preheated oven for 10-12 minutes or until very lightly golden.
Spread on about 1 1/2 cups of barbecue sauce. Toss the chicken with about 1/2 cup more barbecue sauce and spread over top. Sprinkle cilantro and onion (if using), and top with cheese.
Bake 10-12 more minutes or until cheese is melted and bubbly and the crust is perfectly golden.

Oh YUM.

Getting Organized: Under the kitchen sink

I'm alive!

And I have SO MUCH to share!! There are a lot of projects and transformations going on around here!!

But today I'm going to share another organizing project that I've done. It is that spring-cleaning time, after all.

Here's what under my kitchen sink looked like before: And here's how it looks now:I pulled everything out, scrubbed it all, put down some shelf lining paper, and organized everything. I even have a special bowl just for my sponge.
I found this adhesive paper at Marshall's in a 2-pack for $5.99. So I have A LOT left over.

It just feels so good to be organized. On to the next organizing project!! There's just too many areas to choose from!

Have you been spring cleaning anything??
