Pinspired: Homemade cleaner/Spring Cleaning

I'm getting an early start on my spring cleaning. Figured I might as well do it along with the organizing. So I found a pin on making your own multi-purpose cleaner. It's cheap and of coarse, there's no chemicals!
I've always liked the idea of cleaning with vinegar, but it's smelly. Recently, I saw this pin. You put vinegar in a large jar and add citrus peels. Let it sit for at least 2 weeks, and then pour it in a spray bottle with water. On the post, she did a half/half mixture. I actually did a 2:1 mixture. 2/3 water and 1/3 the citrus/vinegar mixture. It works SO WELL on tough messes! And it doesn't streak! Plus, MAJOR BONUS: It's safe!
Now I've got my jar with lemon peels in it to try next. I love a good lemony scent!

Going Green...Literally...

I really wanted to plant a big garden at our current house. And we definately had the room for it, being on an acre and all. But I kept procrastinating, and then when I finally got the motivation to do it (and for some strange reason decided to start my own seeds...I dunno, it was cheaper...), I planted seeds and had them in my house to keep them out of the cold. I didn't have many options for window to put them in, so I put them in the windows in my bedroom. Some how, Kadie got to them and dumped the dirt along with the seeds out EVERYWHERE! Needless to say, I hadn't tried since.
Well, now I'm not going to have my big space in the country to plant my garden. But that will not stop me! I will have a little vegetable/herb garden at my new house! I hope. I'm not very experienced with gardening. Honestly, I hate gardening. Even the plants in my house die. But maybe if I had a nice garden I'd learn to love it! So, why not give it a try? I planted a few seeds, and my garden is already starting! This is my zucchini plant!! Yay! I have to ability to make a plant grow!
I decided to let Kadie get in on this. She wanted flowers, so I let her pick out some flower seeds. Yeah, I didn't really pay attention, and I honestly don't know what kind they are! I guess we'll be surprised!!

This is my Parsley pot...the parsley is MIA...

If anyone wants to give me gardening tips, PLEASE DO! I could use all the help I can get!!

Recycled Grocery Tote Bags...

For my mom's gift this year, I decided to give the Recycled Grocery Tote Bags from MADE a try. (see the tutorial here.) My mom is all about recycling, and being Eco-Friendly, so I thought this would be perfect for her, and because they are so stinkin' cute! So here's my results. Of coarse they are no where as cute as Dana's, but I am still pretty happy about how they turned out! The real major difference is the edges are a zig-zag stitch, since I don't have a serger (tear). And then I also did the bread bag in the brown-tan color. But I tried to keep them pretty close to what she did, because why mess with perfection?
